Our first brew, GINTRIGUE 42 was a beautiful botanical brew with juniper berries, lemon & orange zest, citra & simcoe hops created in collaboration with the Three Blind Mice Brewery. It was a great success but shame we didn’t brew more of it. But worry not as we will soon be active in brewing another wonderful ale. Watch this space.
Pink Eye PA
Our second brew was created with the collaboration of Redwell.
220 grapefruits…… peeled & juiced…….
It’s a hybrid IPA/Lager. Just like us lot it doesn’t conform to any label.
It’s both gluten free and vegan too.
Our ales and ciders change daily and we aim to introduce customers to a different way of drinking, flavour rather than quantity. You don’t have to drink a macho pint as we also serve in ⅓, ½, ⅔ pint measures. To help you explore our 13 craft ales and ciders they are listed on our blackboard behind the bar showing the brewery, region and the style of ale. And if you want to find an ale or cider that matches your taste buds just ask for tasters before you buy. We also stock a good selection of wines and some unusual spirits as well as soft and fruit drinks and delicious snacks.
Why Vegan, Gluten Free & Cloudy Ales?
If you follow a vegan lifestyle or have coeliac disease then this is obvious BUT there is another reason. Ales are cleared by using Isinglass made from the dried swim bladders of fish. This clears the ale but also removes some of the taste. Many people find that an unfined cloudy ale tastes better with a fuller flavour. If this unfined beer contains milk/lactose then it becomes vegetarian. Customers have commented that the gluten free ales do not bloat them out which when you think of what gluten can do to the gut then this makes sense.
